- Location: The gardens are located about 10 kilometers north of downtown Victoria at 800 Benvenuto Ave.
- History: The gardens were established in 1904 and have been continuously operated since then. They started as quarry pits but were transformed into stunning floral displays.
- Size: The gardens cover over 55 acres and include 25 gardens with over 800 varieties of plants.
- Attractions: Main areas include the Sunken Garden, Japanese Garden, Rose Garden, and Ravine Garden. There’s also a cafe, gift shops and a playground.
- Hours: Open year-round from 9 AM-9:30 PM in summer and 10 AM-6 PM in winter. Closed Christmas Day and December 25th.
- Admission: Adults $36.45CAD, seniors/youth $32.55CAD. Children under 5 are free. Evening rates are also available as well as combo tickets with entry to the Butchart Coastal Woods.
- Tours: Free guided tours are available for the Sunken Garden daily in summer. Gardens are wheelchair accessible with some limitations.
- Events: Special spring and holiday-themed garden tours and lighting displays are held annually. Concerts and theatre performances seasonally as well.
