The Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple is a Mahayana Buddhist temple located in Bellevue, Washington. Established in 1994, it is part of the Fo Guang Shan monastic order based in Taiwan.
The temple grounds feature gardens, ponds, and statues that provide a serene space for spiritual reflection and practice of Buddhist teachings. Central to it is a three-story main hall housing the statues of Buddha, bodhisattvas, and high monks.
Daily prayers and ceremonies follow the Dharma Drum lineage rituals. Visitors are welcome to join in meditation, and lectures and observe special observances of holidays and festivals. Community outreach programs also aim to promote Buddhism.
In addition to its religious activities, the temple runs classes on Buddhism, Chinese language, and culture. Through such educational initiatives, it works to pass on traditions to younger generations both within the Asian-American community and beyond.
Situated right off a wooded trail, the natural surroundings complement and enhance the temple’s tranquil ambiance. It serves as an oasis of calm and symbolizes cultural diversity in the Pacific Northwest region.
